When she boarded that bus in Nakuru, she had no idea what would happen to her.A journey of morethan eight hours in comfort of the VIP seat was what she least expected.Elizabeth now a mother of one on 26th August 2017 boarded one of our buses in expectation to arrive in Mombasa for classes.
Her expectation was thwarted by a pain. The pain you realise that life is a journey and it has to begin from some point. However much you may resist the pain, this particular one is inevitable and everything has to stop.Elizabeth went into labour few kilometres to Makindu.
The crew of our bus from Busia on 26th August 2017 had to stop the bus and help a customer. This was one of a kind as a new born was to join the world of fairy tales. In their training to handle emergencies on board, safe mother delivery assistance is one of them and in many years has never happened. This was litmus test.
Lucky enough there was also a nurse onboard who helped in the process. All the passengers onboard were patient as this bundle of joy was brought to the world.Push!push!push! they rejoiced with the mother. Then bus was later driven to Makindu district hospital for medical care.
“Lucky Modern” was its name. The hospital received the bundle with joy.Modern Coast rejoiced with its fans of a gift God send as bills were footed and travel vouchers awarded to the people who assisted. An appreciation to the awesome job done.

Sylvia Buluma “At first it was like a movie no one expected her to go into labour but yes she was one strong young woman who really did her best to push the baby. And the son is a champ he didn’t let the mother down and all of us at the bus. When I heard his cry God knows the excitement that got me. Big up to the lady who really did assist her to deliver God bless you. Big up to her younger sister who as well didnt let go of her side and yes she will some day be a good nurse she did great. And for the driver too atleast I had your name as the conductor said he should be called Martin. Mr Martin thank you for taking her to makindu hospital. All the passangers including me of course we didn’t mind getting late but to ensure both the mother and the son are well taken care of. Yes the kid needs a free ride for the rest of life that’s how it goes right. Modern is all my choice of bus and it has never done me wrong. God bless you baby Modern”
Elizabeth in her statement appreciated what the company did to her for safe delivery. She is now a proud mother.Travel in style
